Stunt Driving - Section 172 and 172(1)
Stunt Driving in Ontario is a relatively new Charge. It can mean that you have been accused of the following:
-Driving 50km or more in a zone above 80km.
-Driving 40km or more in a zone below 80km.
-Racing another Vehicle
-Making your tires lose traction
Roadside you will be given a 30-day mandatory suspension as well as your car impounded for 14 days. It doesn't matter if the vehicle is not yours- it is mandatory.
After the suspension of 30 days you will need to go to service Ontario and get your license reinstated and pay a reinstatement fee. This is also mandatory- do not drive unless you have reinstated your license.
The owner of the vehicle will have to go and get the car out of impound. If you were driving a Rental vehicle there will likely be extra fees from them.
You will be given a summons to appear to court which is normally on a yellow or white paper. You need to attend in court unless you hire us (www.ticketforce.ca most affordable and lots of experience). These are very serious charges and it is not wise to handle them on your own.
If you are convicted of this charge you can face:
-fines up to $10,000++
-1 year minimum license suspension
- 6 demerit points
-possible jailtime
-insurance increases
